(Avoca) Three teams enter Week 4 with an undefeated record in Class A, District 7. Two of them will go head-to-head on Friday night. AHSTW hosts Mount Ayr this week in a pivotal matchup.
Mount Ayr’s 3-0 start features wins over Nodaway Valley/O-M, Central Decatur, and Riverside. They are averaging 42.6 points per game and allowing only 9.3. AHSTW has topped IKM-Manning, Earlham, and SW Valley with shutouts in two of the three games.
The Vikings were efficient in their 28-0 win over SW Valley last week. They ran 30 plays and gained 314 yards. Kyle Sternberg went 7/10 passing for 147 yards with one TD and no interceptions. The team averaged 8.4 yards per carry led by Luke Sternberg’s 93 yards and two scores on 11 attempts. Cole Scheffler had a career night with four catches for 81 yards and Nick Denning caught a 36-yard touchdown pass. Denning led the defense with 13 tackles.
