(Carroll) Kuemper-Catholic carries momentum into their week two matchup with non-district foe Atlantic. The Knights topped Logan-Magnolia, 34-12, last week, racking up 353 yards of offense led by the running games, 23 plays for 221 yards. Coach Steinkamp credits the offensive line for a job well done.
Steinkamp says prep work this week includes; sustaining blocks, moving the chains, and defensively readying themselves for the Trojans’ passing attack. Last week against Glenwood, Caden Andersen completed 24-passes for 334 yards.
Atlantic and Kuemper are 2-2 in the series that picked up again in 2018. The Knights defeated the Trojans 34-0 on Kuemper’s home field one year ago.
Coach Steinkamp says communication, moving the chains, getting off the field on defense, avoiding the big play, and taking care of the ball are what the Knights are shooting for on Friday night.
