Brendan Monahan rushed for 258 yards and two scores on 27 attempts in Week 1. “He’s a special player.” Coach Jake Driver says, “Everybody knows that he has to touch the ball for us and we are hoping some of our other weapons can come through for us moving forward.”
The Falcons gave up a late score and lost 21-17. “We have to tip our caps to Treynor and their staff and their team. They’ve got a nice ball club. Kind of what we took away from it was we made a lot of first game jitter mistakes from a lot of guys that are young and haven’t played a lot of football. A lot of our mistakes were not physical, they were mental.”
Coach Driver has a lot of respect for Riverside and coach Darrell Frain. “Coach Frain does a great job. ” Driver says, “I have a lot of admiration for him. His teams are always well coached, they are physical up front.” He says, “They do a real good job of attacking you where you are weak.”
