(Atlantic) Ryan Hawkins suited up over the weekend for the Golden State Warriors in the California Classic. Other teams involved include the Heat, Lakers, and Kings. Each squad will play three games over a four day stretch.
The Kings beat the Warriors on Saturday, 86-68. Former Iowa Hawkeye Keegan Murray was 10/14 from the field and 4/5 from 3-point range with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Hawkins played 12:39 with a 1/4 shooting night and three points. The former Northwest Missouri State and Creighton standout pulled in two rebounds.
On Sunday, the Lakers beat the Warriors 100-77. Hawkins was one of eight players on the Golden State roster that did not play in the game. After rolling an ankle he his expected to be back in action on Tuesday when they wrap up action against Miami. The 2:00 p.m. game can be viewed on NBA TV Canada.
Hawkins will also participate in the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League. He’ll compete with the Toronto Raptors July 7th-17th.
