(Griswold) The Griswold administration has come up with a new idea to increase enthusiasm surrounding their basketball programs. The Tigers will host Heartland Christian in a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. in front of the entire student body.
Activities Director Troy Nicklaus says, “We are going to call school off and have the whole student body come to the game. We are going to give them all T-Shirts that say something about blue out. We are going to play the game at one and the boys are going to follow with a short intermission so we can get everybody out before the busses run. It’s going to be a good time. We are going to cater a meal for the teams and have free popcorn for all the kids.”
Nicklaus says the students are looking forward to it. “They are real excited about it. Some of the elementary kids never get to see a ballgame and this is their opportunity to see a game. Hopefully they’ll tell mom and dad to come back and see some more.”
There’s no admission cost for anyone who wants to come watch. “The public is invited. There is going to be no admission. The public and parents can come in. Heartland Christian mentioned that they are possibly going to bring a pep bus with some kids since it’s during the day and it’s just going to be a good time for everybody.”
