Keith William Maynes, 67, of Red Oak, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
Keith was born on November 26, 1953, in Red Oak Iowa, the son of John Russell Maynes and Avis Owen (Noel) Maynes. He graduated Red Oak High School with the class of 1972. While still in school, Keith helped his dad with farming and purchased his first farm in 1973. Later in 1985-1997, he started Maynes Sprayer Supply. Also, in 1985 he met Mike Post and started selling for ChemFarm Sprayers. In 1995 Keith and his son Pat started Maynes Trucking. After retiring from farming, Keith worked at
Hawkeye Ford.
Keith then met his wife Bridgette Jeray, just by chance at a local hang out and moved to Atlantic. They later married in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 21, 2004. They then moved from Atlantic to Red Oak to raise their children. He was very involved in his children’s sports and school events.
Later in 2005, Keith started working for Southside Auto with Dick McAlpin. Keith eventually retired from driving truck cross country for Hansen Trucking in Griswold, IA in 2015. During retirement, Keith enjoyed camping with his family and young grandchildren. He loved his dog, Suri. Keith was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Those surviving Keith are his wife, Bridgette Maynes of Red Oak, IA; children, Pat Maynes (Kelly) of Red Oak, IA, Jill Roll (Brian) of Somerville, NJ, Josh Hansen (Stephanie) of Clinton, IA, Katelynne Raborn (Jonathan) of Omaha, NE, Brittney Ostroske (Jeremy) of Red Oak, IA, and at home Kyleigh and Abby Maynes; Grandchildren, Madalynne, Evalynne, Myalynne, William, Olivia, Jarrett, Carter, Ben, and AJ; Brother, Larry Maynes (Janine) of Urbandale, IA; Mother-in-law, Donna Jeray of Atlantic, IA; Brothers-in-law, Rick Jeray (Dee) of Vinton, IA, Ron Jeray (Tammy) of Atlantic, IA; Sister-in-law, Karen Levin (Ron) of Torrance, CA; and many more nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic, IA, with Pastor Lauri Boysen officiating. Burial will be held at the Atlantic Catholic Cemetery.
Open visitation with family present will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., on Friday, November 19, 2021, also held at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic.
