(Atlantic) It’s Homecoming in Atlantic on Friday, and the Trojans host Knoxville. Both teams are 1-5 on the season.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says Knoxville relies on the ground game with 716 yards rushing and 248 yards passing.
Tristin Dejong and Gavin Montalvo lead the team in rushing with 211 and 188 yards, respectfully. Brummer says Dejong is a physical downhill runner.
The Panthers have thrown the ball just 48 times through the first six games. Quarterback Noah Keefer is 16-41 for 224 yards.
The Trojans have Knoxville, Saydel, and Creston remaining on the schedule. Brummer says the team is motivated to end the season on a positive note.
The Trojans have 984 total yards of offense coming into this week’s seven-game against Knoxville, with 443 yards passing and 541 receiving yards.
Like most games, turnovers will play a big part in this one. The Trojans have seven interceptions and one fumble recovery, and Knoxville has seven interceptions.
The kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. We will have the broadcast on 95.7 F.M. and live-streamed on westerniowatoday.com.
