(Atlantic) Cass County is joining the Healthiest State Initiative’s State Walk on Wednesday, October 6. The Atlantic Parks and Rec., and Royal Neighbors are hosting a public walk at the Schildberg Recreation Area at 10:00 a.m. Everyone in Cass County is welcome to join.
Iowa’s Healthiest State Initiative, spearheading the walk, is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization to make Iowa the healthiest state in the nation. The initiative points to benefits such as increased energy levels and better sleep, increased blood flow, improved cognitive and memory function, and reduced anxiety and depression. And a great way to connect with others.
The Nishna Valley Family YMCA, Royal Neighbors, and Cass County Extension will provide free water bottles and other giveaways to participants.
October 6 is Iowa’s 11th Annual Healthiest State Walk. Iowans are encouraged to walk for 30-minutes to an hour.
