(Centerville, IA) — A community in southeast Iowa is a Guinness World Record holder. Centerville hosted its annual Pancake Day Saturday and served 14,480 flapjacks to hungry guests.
That broke the previous world record of 13,000 pancakes set this June in Blue Springs, Missouri. Organizers say around 17,000 pancakes are typically served in Centerville, but the world record carries strict criteria.
Each pancake must be five inches in diameter and no more than one centimeter thick.
