Donnie Evans, 64, of Bridgewater, Iowa, formerly of Cortland, NY, passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2021 at his home in Bridgewater. Born October 21, 1956 in Cortland, he was a son of Pastor Donald and Joyce (Scutt) Evans of Cortland, who survive him.
Donnie relocated many years ago to Iowa, where he was a foreman with ACR Refrigeration of Sioux City. A welder by trade, he was an avid hunter and member of the NRA, and he enjoyed his Harleys and dogs, Punky Butt and Emily.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Michelle (Shelley) Evans; a son, Treves Ray Evans (Kelli), of Black Diamond, WA; grandchildren: Celeste, Charlisse, Rhealani, Vernise, and Roberto; a brother, David Evans (Jean) of Etna; a sister, Deborah Friday (Flint) of Dryden; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 103 Lincoln Ave., Groton, NY on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 4 PM to 6PM, with a time of reflection to follow at 6 PM. Private interment will be in Groton Rural Cemetery at a later time. The Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Atlantic is caring for the Evans family.
