(Cedar Rapids, IA) — A man is jailed in Cedar Rapids for the alleged abuse of his ex-girlfriend’s dog. Officers say video from cameras in the woman’s home shows 38-year-old Terry Lockamy abused the five-year-old Shih Tzu at least three times last week. The owner told Animal Control she brought the dog to vet because it was unable to walk, appeared disoriented and was not completely alert. Investigators say Lockamy kicked it so hard that it flew across the floor, slammed a baby gate on the dog, and struck the dog 11 times with cardboard. He’s facing three counts of animal abuse and animal neglect for failing to seek medical attention for the pet.
