(Guthrie Center) For the first time in their brief history (since 2017) the ACGC baseball team has reached double digit wins. The Chargers notched their 10th win of the season Tuesday night over West Central Valley by a score of 7-4.
Coach Taylor Morris refers to the school record win total as the result of a lot of hard work, “A lot of these guys that are playing this year are 2-3 year starters. They’ve put the work in. They don’t just play from May to July. They come in in the fall and do some work. That was big for our guys.”
Among the big feathers in their cap this season was a 2-0 win over Class 2A top five rated Van Meter last week. “That was a huge stepping stone for our program. We hadn’t really won a big game yet. They were #1 at the time. Eli Kading threw a really good game.”

The Chargers have gotten good contributions from several players offensively. Newell Rogers leads the pack with a .430 batting average while Miles Kading, Brock Littler, Charlie Crawford, Eli Kading, and Clayton Wardyn are all hitting above .300. The team is averaging 5.9 runs per game, but gives up 8.1 runs a contest.
