Audubon’s seventh inning rally came up short as they scored three runs in the final frame to close within two. The Wheelers managed eight hits including two each from Ethan Klocke and Gavin Smith. Braden Wessel walked three times.
Atlantic 8, CAM 1
The Trojans snap CAM’s 9-game win streak. Lane Nelson pitched all seven innings and struck out nine batters. He gave up five hits and no walks. Gunner Kirchoff had two hits including a home run and three RBI. Garrett McLaren had a double and two RBI. Grant Sturm and Collin Mullenix each drew three walks. Joe Kauffman had two singles and drove in CAM’s only run. Colby Rich had a single and a double. Joe Kauffman struck out ten batters and now has 78 for the season which is 2nd best in Class 1A.
Harlan 5, Carroll 0
Teagon Kasperbauer pitched the shutout allowing five hits and two walks. Four of Harlan’s five runs came in the third inning. Isaiah Ahrenholtz hit a double while singles came from Joey Moser, Quinn Koesters, Luke Musich, and Ben Muenchrath.
ACGC 7, West Central Valley 4
A three run fifth inning was the difference. Miles Kading went 3/4 with a triple and an RBI. Reid Rumelhart had two doubles and drove in two runs. Clayton Wardyn posted two hits. Andrew Mahaffey struck out seven batters in 4 2/3 innings. Mahaffey gave up four hits, three walks, and three earned runs.
