Wesley Gene Young, the son of Jimmy Gene and Denise Ann (Andersen) Young, was born March 18, 1998, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, IA. Wesley passed away June 9, 2021, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE, at the age of 23 years, 2 months, and 22 days.
Wesley was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca, IA. He graduated from Riverside High School in 2016. After graduating, he worked for OSI and LYCOS, before taking a job with Circle A Manufacturing.
Wesley had been active in 4-H, FFA, and LYO. He enjoyed horseback riding, boating, and hunting. He was an adventurer at heart. Wesley especially loved spending time and playing with his daughter Veda.
Wesley was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Lois Jean Young and Darlene Andersen.
Wesley will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Veda Eloise Young of Oakland, IA; his parents of Oakland, IA; his siblings: Cody Boysen of Park Rapids, MN, Tyler Boysen (Jacqueline) of Council Bluffs, IA, Mikayla Emmanuel (Angelo) of Oakland, IA and Jordan Young of Oakland, IA; his grandfather, Marlin Andersen; his nieces and nephews: Autumn, Andrea, Andersen, Santino, Thorin, and Lillian; and extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Wesley will be Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca, IA at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in the Avoca Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at the Oakland Community Building in Oakland from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. Rieken Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
