(West Des Moines, IA) — A new pop-up drive-in movie theater welcomed a crowd Sunday night at the former Younker’s parking lot at Valley West Mall. Hy-Vee partnered with H-D On the Go Big Screen to set up the event in West Des Moines. Opening night featured the Iowa-based classic “Field of Dreams.” On hand for the event was actor Dwier Brown, who played John Kinsella in the movie. Hy-Vee officials say there is room for 98 vehicles and 75 chairs for people who want to sit close to the screen. The “Hy-Vee Drive-In Theater” will be open every Thursday through Sunday this summer.
