Pamela Jean (Shanno) Mazetis, daughter of Manfred and Winifred (McKee) Shanno was born February 2, 1949, in Red Oak, IA. She died March 7, 2021, at the CHI Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA., at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 5 days.
Pam attended school in Oakland. She then moved to California, where she worked at Kiewit Key Company. She moved to New York for several years, before returning to Oakland. After returning to Oakland, she worked at Bemis Bag Company. She then became an owner of Riverside Lanes until 1995. Later, she managed the Oakland Golf Course. Pam lived in Oakland until the time of her death.
Pam enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping, traveling, and going to the casino.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Stan; her siblings: Peggy Kindhart, Jack Shanno and Patsy (Lonnie) Smith; and her nephew Troy Shanno.
Pam is survived by her children: Shelly (Todd) Williams, Rachael Scott (Evan Jones), Jamie (Jill) Kadel, Christopher (Shalimar) Mazetis; her grandchildren: Adam (Jenna) Hebing, Tyler (Kelsey) Williams, Mitchell (Delayne) Geyer, Garrett Williams, Gavin Geyer, Taten Williams, Daisha (Mitchell) Easton, Trey Cleaveland (Jenna Glasgow), Jaxon, Owen, and Addison Kadel; her great-grandchildren: Madilynn and Ashlenn Hebing, Emersyn and Annistyn Williams, Raelynn and Sawyer Easton. She is also survived by her two brothers Richard (Joan) and Lonnie (Janice) Shanno; and many other relatives and friends. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Tipsy.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM at the Oakland United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery. Following the interment, lunch will be served at the Oakland Christian Church. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is assisting the family.
