(Wichita, KS) Former Atlantic/CAM wrestler Carter Cox secured a spot on the podium at the NAIA National Wrestling Tourney this week. Cox, a 125 pound senior from Cumberlands (TN), wrestled his way to a 6th place showing.
His tournament began win a 7-1 decision over Billy Sullivan, of Oklahoma City. He fell to the back side of the bracket with a 7-1 quarterfinal loss to Justin Portillo, of Grand View. Cox won his next two matches by scores of 8-2 and 5-3 against Indiana Tech’s Nathan Orum and Gage Hudson, of Cumberlands (KY). Cox went to the 5th place match as a result of a 5-3 setback to Randy McCray, of Life (FL). In his 5th place match he lost an 11-4 decision against Daniel Vargus, of Doane.
