(Elk Horn) For the 6th time in 7 years the Exira-EHK girls are Rolling Valley Conference champions.
Macy Emgarten scored 24 points while Mollie Rasmussen and Quinn Grubbs each scored 17. The 5th rated Spartans buried 14 3-pointers in Friday’s 74-53 win over CAM. They improve to 19-0 on the season with a trip to Boyer Valley lined up on Monday for their final regular season game.
Exira-EHK pushed the lead to double figures at the end of the first quarter (18-8) on an Alisa Partridge 3-pointer. Partridge took a few charges in the contest which slowed some of CAM’s aggressiveness.
The Cougars were led by 12 points by Zoey Baylor, 10 from Molly Venteicher, and 9 each for Mallory Behnken and Reese Snyder. CAM slips to 14-5.
Exira-EHK stretched the lead to 21 by halftime at 42-21. CAM showed some spark in the 3rd quarter, but had far too much ground to make up. The closes the Cougars got it to within 12 at 52-40, but the home squad scored the final six points of the third and controlled the fourth.
