Teresa Howard of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and formerly of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Sunday January 24, 2021, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE, following an extended illness.
Teresa Elaine Howard (Bix) was born October 7, 1955, in Page County, Iowa, to Elvis and Wylene Bix.
She was a graduate of Hopkins, MO, high school. Growing up, Teresa enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandmother, playing the piano, and singing with the Bix Brothers Band. After graduating, Teresa went on to further her education at Iowa Western and received her LPN Degree. She worked in nursing facilities and loved taking care of people.
Teresa married Doug Howard on Dec. 21, 2002. They made their home in Atlantic, Iowa. Together they loved riding their motorcycles, traveling, planting flowers in the spring, and spending time with their grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Howard of Sutherland, IA; mother, Wylene Bix of Maryville, MO; father/mother-in-law, George and wife Sharon Howard of Atlantic, IA; son, Micky Filson and wife Cindy of Lomita, CA; daughters, Lori Houston and husband Jeff of Torrance, CA, Jessi Gaunt and husband Andrew of Red Oak, IA; stepdaughter, Christina Flipse and husband Scott of Omaha NE; brother, Tracy Bix and wife Sarah of Maryville, MO; sister, Tina Dittmer and husband Harrold of Williamsburg, IA; sisters-in-law, Susan Fitzpatrick and husband Thomas of Storm Lake, IA, and Michelle Howard of Storm Lake, IA; and brother-in-law, Michael Howard of Atlantic IA; grandchildren, Lorren, Jordan, Emily, Dylan, Brandon, Jeremy, Adrian, Mason, Waylon, Addalyn and Charli; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ted and Maye Bix, and Hildred and Phyllis Diggs; father, Elvis Bix; brother, Terrell Bix; uncles, Richard and Larry Bix; cousin; Kolleen Bix; and nephew, Chad Bix.
Arrangements are pending at this time.
