(Atlantic) Atlantic and St. Albert square off for the second time Friday night at Atlantic. The Saintes edged the Trojans 65-64 on Allie Petry’s buzzer beater in a game played on January 2 at St. Albert. Petry shot 14-22 from the field and scored 31-points.
Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason says the Trojans’ key is slowing down Petry.
Vargason says consistency is the main point of emphasis on the rematch with the Saintes tonight.
The other key element is confidence.
Atlantic is (3-4) in the conference (6-9). overall. St. Albert is (3-5) in conference play and (6-10) overall.
In comparison, the Saintes enter the contest averaging 52.9 points per game. Atlantic averages 57.7. Up to this point, the Trojans have allowed an average of 53.9 points per game—St. Albert’s allowing 51.8. The Saintes are shooting 41-percent from the field. Atlantic is shooting 38.4-percent.
