(Elk Horn) Facial coverings will continue to be worn in the Exira-EHK school district for the next two months.
The district’s facial covering policy has been extended through March. Superintendent Trevor Miller says masks and social distancing have been effective. “Every two months we review it to see where the state, where COVID is, but our numbers we had nobody out due to COVID. All kids, all staff, and everybody else is back”
Meanwhile, the board has set a public hearing during their February meeting for the 2021-22 School Calendar. “I don’t think the legislature is going to let us not start the 23rd or after like this year so I think next year we’ll be back to starting after the state fair.”
The February Board meeting is on the 15th. At that meeting they will further discuss a sharing agreement with IKM-Manning for a School Business Official, Human Resources, Superintendent, and Transportation. “The board is looking to continue sharing all those, because that gives us our 21 students operational sharing. They are wanting me to discuss with the board what percentage we can have as Superintendent. The rest they are all fine with so we meet at IKM-Manning on Thursday to see what their thoughts our so we’ll be able to move forward with that in February.”
The February meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the conference room in Elk Horn.
