(Atlantic) The Cass County Board of Supervisors received the annual report and funding request from West Central Community Action at their meeting this morning.
Wendy Mueller, Executive Director, said each year West Central Community Action asks the Supervisors to make an appropriation of funds to support their agency and the programs they administer. This year their request is $4,000, which is the same as last year.
In FY’20, West Central Community Action serviced 566 households and 1,198 individuals in Cass County. $929,265 in direct client program services were provided to the county. $292,636 in administrative and delivery costs were incurred by WCCA for Cass County. $1,221,901 total dollars for services were provided by WCCA for Cass County.
Services provided to West Central Community Action clients include Head Start, Early Head Start, Child Care Resource and Referral, Child and Adult Care Food Program, Weatherization, Senior Employment Program, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, CSBG Rent & Mortgage Assistance, Family Development and Self-Sufficiency, and Women, Infants and Children (WIC).
The request was taken under consideration by the Board to discuss at budget time.
In other activity, the Supervisors approved the number of and appointment of Administrative Assistants to the Cass County Attorney for the remainder of the term ending January 2023. Those appointed include Beverly Groves and Eva Jensen (Attorney’s Administrative Assistants) and Maureen Doherty (Victim Advocate).
