(Red Oak) Montgomery County Auditor Stephanie Burke reminds voters the deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is by 5:00 p.m. today (Saturday, October 24). It is also a pre-voter registration deadline.
Burke says if you didn’t register to vote before October 24, 2020, you could register on Election Day or voting absentee in-person at the Auditor’s Office. You must provide proof of both your identity and residency.
The last day to vote an absentee ballot in-person at the Auditor’s Office is on Monday, November 2, 2020.
Burke asks those with absentee ballots and done voting to please send them to the Auditor’s Office as soon as possible. It can be mailed, hand-delivered, or dropped off in the official county drop box located south of Coolbaugh Street’s courthouse. Absentee ballots must be received no later than the close of the polls on Election Day. Mailed ballots returned by mail and received after Election Day must be postmarked on or before November 2 and received by November 9 to be counted. Absentee ballots are opened and counted on Election Day and are open to the public.
The Montgomery County Auditor’s Office will be open on Saturday, October 24, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for absentee voting and election business.
