(Neola) Tri-Center hopes to snap a three game skid when they host AHSTW this Friday night.
The Trojans enter the final game of the regular season at 2-4, but are only a couple of plays away from being 4-2. Head coach Ryan Schroder notes his team is ready to fix some of their prior miscues. “I expect a dog fight to be honest with you. With us not having the success we wanted to this year and Avoca has had to sit out I think both teams are going to come out hungry and ready to play.”
The Trojans have a couple of five point losses that they’d like to have back against both Riverside and SW Valley. “I told the kids the other day and all the coaches that it’s probably the most frustrating part that it’s just the little things. Our scheme is good and everybody is where they need to be it’s just not quite finishing a block or missing an open field tackle. It’ s things we can correct, we just haven’t gotten over the hump yet.”
Coach Schroder says his team’s rushing attack has improved led by 6’3 240 pound back Owen Osbahr. “When he gets going north and south he’s tough to bring down. If we get him to that second level he’s a force. I’m really proud of our running game. We all know if you can run the ball, you can throw the ball.”
Jaxon Johnson and Mason Rohatsch have led a strong passing attack. Johnson has thrown for 1,260 yards and 12 TD’s while Rohatsch has 38 catches for 597 yards and 8 touchdowns. Coach Schroder breaks down AHSTW. “They are going to be a physical football team. They have some good athletes with Raydden Grobe and Blake Holst. They are going to be physical and bring it right to us.”
This will be AHSTW’s first game since Week 4. Coach Schroder doesn’t believe either team has any advantage when it comes to rest vs rust, but he says it all comes down to which team has the most desire.
