(Waverly) Wartburg College hosted one of the largest cross country meets of the year on Saturday. The 4th Annual Steve Johnson Invite was held in Waverly with Nodaway Valley being among the teams in attendance.
The Wolverines were placed in the Gray Division. They boys placed 17th among 19 scoring teams. The girls were 17th out of 18 schools.
Toby Bower turned in a time of 16:54 which placed him 72nd. Doug Berg was 88th in 17:09. Ben Breheny was 126th, Malachi Broers 164th, Gavin Schoemaker 168th, Jevin Christensen 174th, Jaxon Christensen 175th. There were 178 runners in the Gray Division.
Sophia Broers placed 46th for the Nodaway Valley girls in 20:22. Lily Day ran 126th, Annika Nelson 143rd, Abby Engels 145th, and Hope Kading 147th. There were 160 runners.
West Central Activities Conference representatives Madrid and Earlham finished 7th and 10th, respectively in the boys competition. The Earlham girls were 15th and Madrid 18th.
