(Harlan) #4 Harlan takes to the road this Friday night for a matchup with Creston. The Cyclones are (5-0) on the season and coming off a 28-14 win over Carroll one week ago.
Harlan Head Coach Todd Bladt is undoubtedly pleased with the direction this team going into this week six matchup with Creston. Bladt says they prepare for each team the same way and every week mirror the previous week.
This week the competition is Creston. The Panthers enter the contest with a 1-4 record. Bladt says the Panthers will be prepared and will have their best athletes on the field.
Bladt is impressed with the Panther’s size.
Panthers quarterback Cole Strider has thrown for 366 yards and four touchdowns. Strider’s primary target is Cody Burg, who has 14 catches for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Gage Skarda and Garon Wilson lead the Creston rushing attack with 165 and 132 yards, respectively.
The Cyclones offensive numbers are impressive with 2,058 yards of total offense, 1,173 in the air, and 885 yards on the ground.
Harlan quarterback Teagon Kasperbauer is 61-114, throwing the ball for 1,118 yards and ten touchdowns. The sophomore QB has a stable full of receivers to throw to, including Aidan Hall, Connor Frame, and Joey Moser. Mason Griffith leads Harlan’s ground game with 341 yards, Brenden Bartley, 248, and William Kenkel has 227 yards rushing.
Harlan and Lewis Central lead the Class 3A District standings with 5-0 records. Glenwood is 3-2, and Creston and Denison-Schleswig are 1-4.
