(Oakland) Only a couple of weeks remain in the high school volleyball regular season. Riverside will look to make a strong push towards the finish with matches this week against Missouri Valley and Tri-Center.
The Lady Dawgs enter play with week with a mark of 11-5. On Tuesday night they’ll face a 16-5 Missouri Valley squad that beat them 2-1 at the Missouri Valley Tournament. Coach Brooke Flathers says, “They are a good hitting team. We are going to prepare like we know how to and come out ready to defend.” They’ll also matchup with 8-10 Tri-Center on Thursday, “Tri-Center always is going to come out and compete. I think it’s going to be a really good matchup between us and them this year.”
Flathers feels her team’s best volleyball is still ahead of them, “We haven’t peaked yet and we are still building and progress each game and each week and every practice. We still have a lot that we are going to figure out and each conference game is preparing us for the postseason.”
Riverside went 0-2 last night with losses to Logan-Magnolia and Treynor. Coach Flathers said the team flipped the switch and played much better volleyball against the Cardinals than they did against the Panthers.
