(Red Oak) The Shenandoah girls secured a team title in a tight race with Clarinda while the Mustang boys won by an even narrower margin over the Cardinals. Just four points separated the top two girls teams while the boys team crown was determined by a single point.
Individual champs were Clarinda’s Mayson Hartley in the girls race with a time of 22:29 and Red Oak’s Baylor Bergren in the boys race with a time of 18:39.
CAM and Riverside were among the most local schools in the field. The Cougar girls didn’t have a team score, but they did place two runners in the top fifteen. Whitney Holaday led CAM in 12th and Emily Plagman was 14th. Other CAM girls varsity runners were Abby Tibken in 19th and Cadence Stephenson 21st. The CAM boys were 5th among five scoring teams with 112 points. Ethan Follman led the team in 5th plae. Korben Brunt placed 23rd, Gavin Clayton 25th, Rylan Oglesbee 33rd, Walker Gettler 36th, Carson Cary 38th, and Cale Maas 45th.
Riverside did not comprise a girls team score. Becca Cody led the Lady Dawgs in 8th and Stormy Noble was 22nd. Ben Schroeder was the top finisher for the Riverside boys in 4th. Mason McCready and Eric Duhacheck finished back-to-back at 15 and 16. Brant Spies ran 29th, Clayton Spies 34th, and Conner Stevens 40th. Riverside scored 93 points and placed 4th.
