(Adair Co.) Adair County Extension is holding a virtual livestock auction this year for 4-H/FFA members who exhibited market livestock at the 2020 Adair County Fair.
Emily Ide, County Youth Coordinator, said due to Covid-19 they were unable to hold their in-person auction during the county fair. The auction will be held starting at 8:00AM on Monday, August 31st and will close on Tuesday, September 1st at 8:00PM.
“Really, the main difference will be; in a typical setting in person if a kid had brought three market steers to county fair they would enter the ring three times and bidders would have a chance to bid on all of those animals individually… in the virtual setting, each individual lot will be a package deal, so it will give our exhibitor’s name, their photo, their 4-H Club and parent’s names and then a list of any market animal they brought to the Adair County Fair,” explained Emily Ide.
The website to access the auction is https://ssponlinesales.com/auction/9679. Anyone with further questions on how to access the auction or make bids should contact the Adair County Extension Office at 641-743-8412.
All checks from winning bidders should be made out to Adair County Extension and mailed or dropped off at the Adair County Extension Office (154 Public Square, Suite C, Greenfield, Iowa, 50849).
