(Audubon) The Audubon City Council approved resolutions regarding a CDBG grant, Fire Department equipment purchase, and a transfer of the Landus Building to the city during their meeting on Monday.
Audubon Mayor Barb Jacobsen says the Community Development Block Grant agreement is moving forward. “That’s a grant to improve the exterior of homes in the town. It’s been approved by the council.”
The fire department is upgrading their jaws of life equipment. “They have a hydraulic jaws of life and are going to go with one that’s battery operated and a little bit more powerful with associated equipment with that to make it function the best.”
The Landus Building, which will be the site of the new fire station, is being transferred to the city. “In order for the fire department and association to get grants, that building has to be owned by the city and the city has to apply for most of the grants. So the title is being transferred over to the city.”
Mayor Jacobsen says the tree planting restriction was re-worded to make it more clear. Trees cannot be planted in the right of way which is generally between the sidewalk and the curb.
