(Guthrie Center) The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors discussed a compliance contract and the accessibility of the station on the weekends at Tuesdays’ meeting.
Guthrie County Auditor Dani Fink says Transfer Station Director Jotham Arber presented the Supervisors with two different compliance contracts. Transfer Director Jotham Arber plans to check with one of the two companies and return with an agreement next week.
The transfer station is open on a full day on the second Saturday of the month. Fink says the supervisor’s inquired about opening the transfer station two Saturdays a month for half days.
“The idea is to give people two options to get there,” said Fink, “so if someone is cleaning out a garage, they don’t have to wait three weeks to deliver it to the transfer station.”
Arber is going to explore that option, but the supervisors didn’t make any official decision on expanding the station to an additional Saturday.
