(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors received a brief update on COVID-19 activity within the County at Tuesday mornings meeting. Currently, ten cases came back positive out of the 704 individuals tested.
The courthouse re-opened on June 4, and Montgomery County Supervisor Chairperson Donna Robinson noted things are getting back to normal at least from the last few times she was in the courthouse. “There weren’t long lines like when the courthouse reopened on June 4. The traffic leveled off since then, and it’s back to business as usual.
“Maintenance staff and office staff wipes down guardrails and door handles in the common areas to keep things clean. They’re doing their part to try and control the spread of the virus.”
All of the offices reopened accept for the State governed Clerk of Courts Office. Robinson says any foreseen changes wouldn’t happen unless there’s another outbreak or any other occurring events forcing the Supervisors to lock the doors again.
Meanwhile, the supervisors have moved to a meeting room in the basement. Robinson says the place is much larger than their standard meeting room. The room size allows the board to spread out and practice social distancing. Robinson foresees this as a permanent move.
