(Guthrie Center) The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office continues to take precautions to protect themselves and the public during this pandemic.
Sheriff Marty Arganbright said the Sheriff’s Office still has 24/7 coverage, they just handle calls differently when they come in.
“The Dispatchers are asking when calls come in for health reasons and asking anybody if they have been sick before they send any emergency personnel to their house. We’re trying to have the least contact possible and still do our jobs,” explained Sheriff Arganbright.
As far as the jail, Sheriff Arganbright said they are working as usual unless there are inmates that are coming in just to serve some mittimus time, they have delayed that.
Sheriff Arganbright asks that everyone have some patience during this difficult time.
“Just like anywhere else, it’s really affected the county and you can see it when you’re out patrolling, a lot of people are taking precautions and that’s good and there is not a lot of things going on which is good. I just tell people to continue to be safe and stay healthy,” said Sheriff Arganbright.
The Guthrie County Courthouse was closed on March 18th until further notice and the Sheriff’s Office is currently not doing permits to carry.
