(Audubon) Kristie Nielsen with Audubon Community School is a 2019-2020 Administrative Assistant of the Year Award Winner.
Kristie will be honored at the annual Iowa High School Activity Directors Association Convention in March.
“I’m just extremely honored to be representing Audubon and it will be an honor to be there in March to accept the award,” said Kristie Nielsen.
Kristie said she was surprised when she found out she would be receiving this award. She said Mr. Spies had asked her to write up some information on what she does at her job and she knew he had submitted her name last spring, but she didn’t find out that she was going to be honored until recently.
Kristie said when she started at Audubon she was strictly Activities Director Secretary so she does all of the online calendar work, contacting officials, helping with sports calendars, helping coaches if there is any needs there, supporting the athletes and the coaches in the post season, she does a lot of the computer set up work for the home track meets, and over the years her duties have combined to being Secretary to the Principal as well so she helps take care of the kids, some nursing duties, attendance and just assisting the Principal when the kids are in need.
Kristie Nielsen has been with the Audubon School District for 12 ½ years.
